Ohio Coal Association Names Interim President
Columbus, Ohio - Mike Carey, Chairman of the Board of Director for the Ohio Coal Association today announced that Michael (Mike) Cope has been named interim President of the Ohio Coal Association. Former President Christian Palich has been appointed to a position within the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C.

Mike has a long history with coal, dating back to his days in Harrison County and his many roles in Ohio government. His experience and knowledge of politics and the legislative process are very important to our membership.”
“I am honored and thrilled to be chosen to lead this great organization,” Cope said. “With guidance from the Board of Directors, Associate members and Friends of Coal, I hope to be a successful advocate for Ohio’s most affordable and reliable source of energy, and articulate why coal based energy is important for resiliency and reliability of our nation’s electric grid.”
