NHK Japan Broadcasting - Japan’s national TV broadcaster Wants to Know About a Coal Comeback in Ohio

Columbus, Ohio October 30, 2017 – On October 30th 2017 Erika Jones Associate News Coordinator and Producer for NHK Broadcasting headed a crew of 4 to interview Mike Cope Interim President of the Ohio Coal Association on camera. NHK has a large business audience in Japan and was interested in how President Trumps policies have improved the outlook for Coal in Ohio.

“Cope said that after 8 years of unrelenting war on Coal the bleeding has been stopped.” When asked how the Ohio Coal Association would rate the President’s energy policy Cope said “the association would give the President a rating of 10. The premature retirement of coal fired plants is extremely detrimental and Secretary of Energy Perry’s call for protection of the nations baseload power plants that are essential to the economy and our national security, is extremely encouraging The segment can be viewed on the NHK app in mid November but is not being broadcast in this country.”
